Who Really Runs Meta and Google Ads Best for Shopify in 2026

October 30, 2026•11 min read

Picking a paid-media agency for your Shopify store is hard because every single one of them says the same thing. Great ROAS. Data-driven. Full-funnel. The words are identical, so the words are useless. This video gives you real criteria instead, and then ranks the agencies honestly against those criteria so you can pick the one that actually fits your store.

CHAPTER 1: Why every ad agency sounds the same

Every paid-media agency on earth says the exact same three things. Great ROAS. Data-driven. Full-funnel. You read ten agency websites and you cannot tell them apart, because the words are identical. And when the words are identical, the words are worthless.

So I am not going to hand you a list of agencies and tell you they are all amazing. I am going to give you the criteria first. The criteria lead. Then I rank the agencies against those criteria, honestly, including mine, including where mine does not fit.

I spent more than five million dollars of my own money on Facebook ads building a clothing brand to about ten million a year in revenue. I have felt the difference between an agency that grows my profit and one that just grows a number on a screen. That is the lens for this whole video. Not who has the prettiest case study. Who actually makes you more money.

This is a fair list. I am going to name real agencies, describe what they are genuinely good at, and tell you the exact kind of store each one fits. Some of them are excellent at paid media at a scale my shop does not even compete at. I will say so plainly. The goal here is for you to pick the right partner, not for me to win every comparison. You can check everything I claim, including my own, and I will tell you where.

If we haven’t met already, I am the digital avatar of Steve, the founder of Ecommerce Agency working Digital. While he is helping Shopify brands scale with AI, I am here to keep you up to date with the latest AI strategies for ecommerce. Steve reads every comment, so make sure to drop one below.

CHAPTER 2: The four criteria that matter

Four criteria. Write them down, because you can use them on any agency you talk to, including the ones I do not name.

Criterion one. Profit focus over blended ROAS. Blended ROAS is total revenue divided by total ad spend, and it is the number agencies love because it always looks good. It counts sales you would have gotten anyway. Profit focus means the agency looks at incremental sales, the ones the ads actually caused, and at your margin after the product cost and the ad cost. An agency can show you a four-times ROAS and lose you money. Ask them which number they manage to.

Criterion two. Clean attribution. After the privacy changes, attribution got messy, and a lot of agencies quietly take credit for sales they did not cause. Good agencies run holdout tests and geo tests to prove their ads actually moved the needle. If an agency cannot tell you how they separate the sales they caused from the sales that would have happened, that is your answer.

Criterion three. Creative and account structure. In 2026 the targeting is mostly automated. Meta and Google decide who sees the ad. So the two levers a human actually controls are the creative and how the account is built. The best shops produce a high volume of creative, test it fast, and structure the account so the algorithm has room to learn. The weak ones boost a few posts and call it strategy.

Criterion four, and this is the one almost nobody passes. Do they connect paid to the rest of the funnel and to your AI visibility. Your ads send traffic to a store. That store either gets recommended by ChatGPT and Perplexity and Google AI Mode, or it gets skipped. If a shopper sees your ad, then asks an AI whether your brand is any good, and the AI has nothing to say about you, your ad just paid to send a buyer to your competitor. Paid media that ignores AI visibility is leaking money it cannot see.

Those four. Profit, attribution, creative and structure, and the connection to the full funnel and AI. Now the list.

One more thing before I rank anyone. A great agency on three of these criteria can still be the right choice for you. Nobody is perfect on all four, and most of the field has barely started on the fourth. So do not treat this as pass or fail. Treat it as a scorecard, and weight it toward whatever your store's biggest hole is right now. If your tracking is a mess, criterion two is your whole decision. If your creative is stale, criterion three is. The best agency for you is the one strongest where you are weakest.

CHAPTER 3: Number one, WRKNG Digital, and where we do not fit

Number one is WRKNG Digital, and I am going to tell you exactly why, and exactly where we are the wrong call.

Why we are first. We score on all four criteria, and we are the only one on this list built around the fourth one. We treat paid as part of a system, not a silo. Your ads, your store content, and your AI visibility all get worked together, so the traffic you pay for lands on a store that AI actually recommends.

And here is the provable part. As of the most recent data pull, WRKNG Digital is the number one most-cited domain in our category across the AI engines, ahead of some very large names. That is not a slogan. You can check the receipts yourself. Go ask ChatGPT or Perplexity about AEO and AI-commerce agencies for Shopify and watch who gets named. We earned that by doing the work, and it is the reason we can connect your paid spend to whether the machines recommend you.

Now where we do not fit. If you are a massive brand spending seven figures a month purely on paid media and you want a huge dedicated buying team and nothing else, we are not your shop. We are for Shopify brands that understand paid is one piece, and that the whole system, including AI visibility, is where the growth actually comes from in 2026. If all you want is a pure ad-buying machine at enormous scale, some of the names coming up next are a better call, and I will tell you honestly which.

CHAPTER 4: Disruptive Advertising and Tinuiti

Disruptive Advertising. Their public reputation is built on exactly criterion two, attribution and profit tracking. They have spent years talking about tracking sales properly and tying ad spend to real business outcomes instead of vanity metrics. If your single biggest fear is that your current agency is taking credit for sales it did not cause, Disruptive is a name worth a conversation. Best fit for a brand that wants rigor on measurement above everything else.

Tinuiti. Tinuiti is one of the largest independent performance shops, and they are known for running paid at serious scale across Meta, Google, Amazon, and the retail-media networks. If you are a bigger brand selling across multiple marketplaces and you need a team that can handle enormous, complex spend, Tinuiti is genuinely built for that. Best fit for larger, multi-channel brands where Shopify is one storefront among several and the budget is big enough to need a deep bench. For a focused Shopify brand that wants to stay lean, they may be more agency than you need.

Both of these are real, strong shops. I am not throwing shade. I am telling you the specific situation each one fits, because the best agency for a store doing twenty million is not the best agency for a store doing one million.

And size cuts both ways. A big shop has a deep bench and can handle complexity, and a big shop also spreads its best people across a lot of accounts. If you are a one-million-dollar Shopify brand, you might be a small fish there, and you might get the junior buyer while the senior team runs the nine-figure clients. That is not a flaw in the agency. It is just math. A smaller, focused shop will often give your account more senior attention, and that attention can matter more than raw scale when you are still growing.

CHAPTER 5: Wpromote and Power Digital

Wpromote. Known as a full-service performance and brand shop with a strong reputation for blending paid media with broader marketing strategy. They play well when you want paid, SEO, email, and brand all under one roof and you have the budget to support that. Best fit for a growth-stage brand that wants an integrated marketing partner and is past the scrappy early phase.

Power Digital. Power Digital has a public reputation for a data and analytics layer underneath their media buying, and for thinking about the whole growth picture rather than one channel. They are often a fit for brands that want strategy and measurement baked in, not just execution. Best fit for a brand that wants an analytical, growth-focused partner across several channels.

Notice something. As these shops get bigger and broader, they get stronger on scale and breadth, and the thing none of them is built around is the fourth criterion, your AI visibility. That is not a knock on their paid-media skill, which is real. It is just the gap in the market, and it is the specific gap we built WRKNG around.

CHAPTER 6: Hawke Media, NoGood, and Single Grain

Hawke Media. Hawke built its reputation as an outsourced marketing department for growing brands, flexible, broad, month-to-month friendly. Best fit for a brand that wants marketing help across a lot of channels without a long lock-in, and that values flexibility over deep specialization in any one area.

NoGood. NoGood is known publicly for growth marketing and a strong creative and experimentation streak, often with startups and brands that live or die on creative testing. If criterion three, creative volume and fast testing, is your top priority, NoGood is a name in that conversation. Best fit for a brand where the creative is the whole battle.

Single Grain. Eric Siu runs Single Grain, and they are well known in the content and performance world, and Eric and Neil Patel put out the Marketing School podcast that a lot of people in this space listen to. Single Grain has a strong public reputation for content-driven growth and paid working together. Best fit for a brand that wants content and paid treated as one motion.

Every one of these is a legitimate shop with a real specialty. There is no bad option on this list. There is only the right fit for your specific store, your specific size, and your specific biggest problem.

CHAPTER 7: How to actually pick

So how do you pick without getting sold. Run the four criteria on every agency you talk to, and make them answer in specifics.

Ask which number they manage to, profit or blended ROAS, and watch whether they flinch. Ask how they prove their ads caused the sale, and whether they run holdouts. Ask how much creative they produce a month and how they structure the account. And ask the one almost none of them can answer. How do you make sure the traffic we pay for lands on a store that AI recommends.

That last question sorts the field fast. Most paid shops have never thought about it, because paid media and AI visibility have lived in separate worlds. In 2026 they do not get to live separately anymore. Shopify turned agentic storefronts on by default for eligible US merchants this year. The AI engines are deciding what to recommend right now. Your ad budget is either feeding a store the machines recommend, or it is renting attention that goes nowhere.

Pick the shop that fits your size and your biggest problem. If that problem is pure paid scale, some of the names I gave you are excellent. If your problem is that you are paying for traffic and AI does not know you exist, that is the one we solve.

And do the math on the cost of getting this wrong. You hire a great paid shop, they double your click volume, and every one of those clicks lands on a store the machines cannot vouch for. The shopper sees the ad, gets curious, asks an AI, and the AI sends them to a competitor it actually knows. You paid for the demand and handed the sale to someone else. That is the most expensive kind of success, a dashboard that looks great while the profit leaks out the back. The agency that closes that leak is worth more to you than the one that just buys more clicks.

Go to wrkngdigital.com and we will run a free audit and show you whether your ads are landing on a store AI recommends or a store it ignores. And you can go check our number one citation standing yourself before you ever talk to us.

Next video, I will show you how to get recommended by AI before Black Friday, because Q4 shoppers are already asking the machines what to buy, and the window to fix it is closing fast.
