The 24-Point AI Visibility Checklist We Run on Every Store (Free Audit Teardown)

June 13, 2026

Most Shopify stores score an F.

Not a C. Not a "needs work." An F. We've run this audit on hundreds of stores, and the pattern barely changes.

Here's the checklist. 24 points, four parts. Run it on your own store and you'll see where you stand before you ever talk to us.

Part 1: Can AI even reach you? (Technical)

This is the part that quietly kills stores.

  • robots.txt allows GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, and OAI-SearchBot.
  • No CDN or firewall override blocking those bots. Check this one twice.
  • llms.txt exists and tells AI what you sell.
  • Sitemap is clean and current.
  • Pages load fast and render without heavy JavaScript.
  • Canonical tags are set.

A quick story. We found Cloudflare blocking AI bots on our own site. The robots.txt we controlled was not what the bots saw at the edge. If it can happen to the agency that does this for a living, it can happen to you. Check the edge, not just the file.

Part 2: Can AI understand you? (Schema and structure)

  • Product schema with price, availability, and reviews.
  • Organization and Person schema.
  • FAQPage schema on key pages.
  • BlogPosting and BreadcrumbList on posts.
  • Clean, complete title, description, and category on every product. Those three fields are what AI shopping engines actually read.

Part 3: Will AI quote you? (Content)

  • Product descriptions long enough to answer real questions. AI needs detail, not a tagline.
  • Answer-first content. Lead with the answer, then explain.
  • Question-style headers that match how people ask AI.
  • Real FAQs that mirror real prompts.
  • First-party data and specifics, not "high quality" and "premium."

Part 4: Does AI trust you? (Authority)

  • Third-party mentions and citations.
  • Reviews with schema.
  • Consistent brand info across the web.
  • A real About page with a real person behind it.

How to score it

Give yourself a point for each. Under 12, you're invisible. 12 to 18, you're developing. Over 18, you're ahead of almost everyone.

Most stores land between 6 and 10. Not because their products are bad. Because nobody told them the rules changed.

We turned this checklist into a free AI Commerce Audit. It scores every product in your catalog across ChatGPT, Google AI, Perplexity, and Copilot, and tells you exactly what to fix first. Results in 24 hours.
